I've got that 'update video player' malware on my laptop. Malwarebytes can't see it.

The free Malwarebytes isn't really an "anti virus" program, its a anti malware program. Its better to have a dedicated AV program and use the free Malwarebytes to back stop and catch any malware programs.

We use it and Sophos.  

Still leaves stuff on Macs, we go in and dig it out by hand.  Leaving it in place doesn't seem to affect performance but we clean it all out.
