Well, I finally made it to my new camp. I had been working in Kuwait for 2 years and Monday I finally got to go north. I flew from Kuwait to Tallil in southern Iraq. Spent the night there then had a 3 hour convoy to Camp Echo. The ride was uneventful and boring which is a good thing! :)
I took a few pics of the trip up and I'll post them later today. We were escorted by coalition troops, (Slovakians), and they were pretty cool. Saw plenty of kids begging on the side of the road for MRE's and bottled water. Also saw new construction all over the place so progress is being made despite what the media keeps harping on about. I'll also get some pics of my new camp over the next few days and put them up as well. If anyone is interested google up a map of Iraq. Look for a town called Ad Diwaniyah. That'll be home for the next year or so.
Pics incoming...
