This is why I respect the man, even if I disagree wholly with whatever issue he is principled and willing to take a stand on his belief unlike many other politicians. This also crosses over into his willingness to buck the party line and follow his own personal beliefs.

McCain winning the Republican nomination would be the best thing for the US and the Republican party. I'd be more willing to vote for him than any other current candidate at least.

If McCain wasn't so pro illegal immigrant and anti gun owner, I'd forgive him for the rest of his little idiosyncrasies.  Although McCain/Feingold would be a severe challenge.  I'll vote for him if he gets the nomination, but I'll bust his balls every chance I get on the border and guns, pretty much like I do right now.

He sucks on illegal immigration.

He sucks on gun owners rights ("Close the gun show loophole!")

And he wrote the "Campaign Finance Reform" Law that basically takes the first Amendment of the Constitution and wipes his ass with it.

Fuck him.

On the gun scale, he's much closer to pro-gun than anti-gun.  He's not perfect, but he's not really all that bad either.

If we have to choose between McCain and Romney, McCain makes a better choice.

Fortunately, Thompson is going to clean everyone's clock in the other 48 states.  You heard it here first.

Horrible on immigration and soft on gun rights. But a better option than Romney or Rudy.

Yup.  McCain is right up there with Obama and Clinton as far as I'm concerned.  Doesn't anyone remember all the stuff in the last couple elections about how he would be an awesome dem nominee?

McCain would be the less evil choice. I was hoping to be able to vote for a good candidate this year, not a lesser evil. . .

Come on Fred, what are you doing?!

My G-d... I can't believe there are people who think he is a man who "stands on what he believes"... He has a proven track record of pandering to whichever interest group he thought would keep him elected/in the news. Anyone who can't see that is naive as hell.

So does Kucinich, but if you're wrong, I'm not interested in how sincerely wrong you are.  McCain's judgment is unreliable, to put it mildly.
