My wife taes our new Baby Basset hound out for a walk and Bam two GIMOUNGOUS MUTANT RACOONS are eating the garbage. One runs off but #2 looks right at the wife and takes a shit! My wife said she tried to scare em off but no dice.
I have a Gamo Whisper but that aint gonna do it. Would my 10 22 with subsonics from my kitchen table make alot of outside noise> I live in a residential area.

What FPS does the Gamo run?

My RWS Diana 48 will in fact dispatch one with no problem.

meh one shot never drew any attention for me in CA.  I didnt bother using sub sonics either I used either .22lr stingers or a 9mm with 115gr hp.  No cops or anything.

ETA:  Fabricate a back stop that is more than sufficient to stop the round.  Coons are tough, you gotta hit em just right or they'll run off and leave the evidence of your deed somewhere.  Thats why I started using my 9.

Whisper will do it. I had to take down a bad dog about 80# with mine.

Just lung it, might not get through the skull.

yeah I had a large one eating my garbage out from my house a few years ago.  Looked like it weighed 50 plus pounds, it was bigger than my dog..I had a bat and thought I would go give it a beating, oddily enough it started walking towards me instead of away from me..maybe it was rabid- it was to big for a bat

Never seen one since anywhere near that size.

Not that I would ever recommend this, because it would be horrible.  Even unthinkable.  But It seems to reason that if you gut shot them with the sub-sonic .22 they will run into the woods and die.

I'm sorry, but only "Ginormous" or "Humongous" are approved.

"Ginormous" is a hybrid of "Gigantic" and "Enormous."

You can't really start a new hybrid like "Gimongous" until after "Ginormous" gets worn out first.

Well just sayin.

I bet your neighbors have been feeding them.

I heard an interesting story about dispatching a big coon once.  A deputy in northern California shot one with a .44 mag that was sitting on a 55 gal drum .  The bullet went through the coon, both exerior walls and one interior wall of his house behind and destroyed a few of his wifes antiques on the way through.    Whoops.

My buddy traps coons. It's in city limits so he has to beat them to death. He says those little fuckers can put up a fight. Godspeed.
