Stay safe, thanks for doing what you're doing. We appreciate it.
Cocoa is on and the wood stove is cranking if you are in the area. |

I learned a long time ago, especially when you have kids or a large family, Christmas is when YOU make
it; lemme splain,,,, When I was on active duty in W Germany (there was still a border fence) I had to drive the duty officer that night; so I figured I'd have my own Christmas later after I was off duty. My dad was a fireman for +20 years, so we would celebrate when he got off duty, didn't really matter (as much) what the calendar said as long as we were all together sharing our joy of the season. Stay safe everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!!! |

You stay safe, too. I didn't forget, I usually lump you guys in with the nozzle jockeys and hose draggers. FWIW. I'm a hose dragger, they don't let me handle the nozzle. ![]() Quoted:

I used to be on the box, now I'm in the ER. Just wanted to add a positive note. I for one love working these days. For the most part the public see us on the worst of days, but tonight and tomorrow the people you interact with REALLY need you. This is when you get to really turn it around from "dad (or whoever) died on Christmas" to "dads life was saved on Christmas" Hell of an opportunity. it'll suck to miss the family, but the chance to help save a life today/tomorrow is SO worth it. Regardless if it's state side or over seas, even if they don't know you did. This applies to all of you. Get it done ladies and gentleman, this is why you signed up. Stay safe and thanks for keeping an eye on me and mine.

Having to work while your loved ones get together to go take care of a bunch of drunken idiots is not fun, but somebody has to do it. Yeah, rookies with no seniority. 17 years later and I finally have Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years Eve off. |

Thanks from RC-Capital, Afghanistan. Luckily I was able to celebrate Christmas on thanksgiving so to me it doesn't really feel like Christmas. Thank you, Merry Christmas, now please log out. This is not going to be one of "those" threads, my boss just handed me a $50 and told me to go buy something for the wife. Well, she spent enough already. |

Thanks, and the same for everybody.
For the first time in years, I'm off Christmas Eve & Christmas, just the right time too, the wife's 4 sisters, nieces, and Parents are all here. Sweatin' bullets this morning, I was number 1 on the mandatory list, but I dodged the bullet and snuck home, nobody called out. |

Had two LEOs shot yesterday by a bank robber in my area. One of the guys died. What a horrible way for a family to spend Christmas, and that will be there with them every Christmas from now on. He left behind a 2 year old and 6 year old as well. Sadly, Christmas will forever bring that memory back for them. Having a 17 month old myself, that's been eating at me since i read the officer.com Officer Down email yesterday. My GF and I are both LEO. She will be working tomorrow so we will be swinging by the station house so my son can see Mom on Christmas. All of you out there be safe. Christmas brings out the crazy. Thanks for doing what you do! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
