On one of the networks, the newsmonkey just said that this is the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII gas rationing. His segue to the nightly gloom & doom was "Mostly, people wanted to be allowed to buy more gas - and at 21 cents a gallon, who could blame them?"
Wanna guess what twenty-one 1945 cents is in 2005 dollars? $2.21 Network News ------->  <------- TruthA half truth is a whole lie, and I hate liars. |

I stopped watching network news over a decade ago. It has been very beneficial to my blood pressure. |

That's news, eh?
My local NBC affilliate ran a story awhile back that stated that convicted felons are allowed to buy machine guns in NC with no restrictions whatsoever. I called the station and got ahold of the guy who was responsible for the content of the noon news show, or so they claimed. I informed him of the rules, and he told me that "The story came over the wire, so it's got to be right". "What the fuck ever" is what I wanted to reply. I was a nice guy, for once, I swear.  The news really ain't, got it? |
