On one of the networks, the newsmonkey just said that this is the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII gas rationing. His segue to the nightly gloom & doom was "Mostly, people wanted to be allowed to buy more gas - and at 21 cents a gallon, who could blame them?"

Wanna guess what twenty-one 1945 cents is in 2005 dollars?  $2.21

I stopped watching network news over a decade ago. It has been very beneficial to my blood pressure.
