I'm tired of all the illegal Mexicans running around in AZ and am looking for a place to move to when I quit work in about 10 years.
I'm looking for rural land in a state that doesn't suck.
Just looking at the map, I'm leaning towards eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Montana,
Wyoming.

What's to like about any of these places and more importantly, what's not to like?

They gotta be 2nd Amendment friendly. Lots of open accessable land(Natl Forest, BLM, etc.)  Low taxes. No BS welfare states. Affordable land. Weather that's bearable. (No 40

Tell me the pros and cons about living in any of these places.

Thanks,
Mike

Nevada is nice :) Hey I live in Nevada.

I'm looking in the same areas.

Washington and Oregon are off the list for me.  The setup is the same as the PRK, densely populated liberal areas fucking it up for the rest of the state.  It's too bad as I think the Puget Sound area is one of the most beautiful places on earth .

I've settled on Idaho as #1 and will be taking a close look at Montana for #2.

Idaho has the frootloops in Boise and Sun Valley areas trying to slide the state left but I think it's going to be a long time before they can pull it off (if ever).

A few years ago when I started looking the Cd'A area was my prime search however it's starting to get a LOT of people moving in and real estate prices are climbing beyond what I think it's worth (not to mention I'm trying to get AWAY from people!).  I'll be searching further north now.  (PS: I LIKE snow )

Here's a good site for looking up tax rate and such:

www.bankrate.com/brm/itax/state/state_tax_home.asp?link=2

You also might try posting in the Hometown Forums.  The firsthand dope from the Washington guys made up my mind real quick about taking that state off the list.

Eastern WA - accessable, four seasons, good hunting. State overall - no income tax, high sales tax, shall issue ccw good in several states, no silencers, no full auto, pre-emption - cities may not enact gun laws tougher than state law (other than no shooting zones). East side conservative, west side is a cesspool. We also have a large contingent of seasonal fruit harvesting specialists, who tend to find other things to specialize in during the off season.

If you're looking for somewhere to live in TEN YEARS that is relatively Mexican free, you will need to look at moving to Mexico.

It should be pretty well emptied out by then.

Lived in washington, friends in Oregon and Idaho. Utah is the choice. Have to put up with damn mormons but machine gun/silencer/aow ok, CCW good in like 15 states (only requires 1 class), great hunting for dear, elk, antelope, bunnies, birds, etc. Beautiful country if it weren't for the nosy neighbors. But there are alot of hispanics here, too

Come to Florida... it gets really exciting here at times.  Especially during the summer.

Umm, I would like to see the stats. I know we have some but from the shit storys I hear about AZ I don't feel we do.

After all a majority of all illegals at one point of time or another must travel through AZ.

Also nevada is alot more then just Las Vegas, We have many little towns that you would find in Montana and so on.

Dude, you for sure don't want to come to Crossville, we've got a boat load of "illegals" running around here. Most are Hondurans and Guatamalins not Mexicans and they don't like being called "Mexican" either.

Nebraska can hardly be called gun friendly.  They have NO CCW at all.

I hate to tell you mang, but all of those places get a boat load colder than Arizona.   I personally like the winter.  I like a big change in seasons.

I personally LOVE cold weather and snow! I can dress for the cold but not for the heat as much.

Now we're talking. There are as many people in my neighboring county as there are in the enitre state of North Dakota.
