475 yards,  ground squirrel,  Savage model 112 in 22-250.

First shot,  we knew the range from sighting all the mounds with a laser rangefinder earlier in the day.

I hold the consecutive record of hitting 0 out of 4 tennis balls from about 10-15 yards with around 60 rounds of ammunition from an M1.

Its true ask just about anyone from the OH hometown forum.

I shot a pig in West Texas that was on a flatass full out run at 317 yards.

I saw him fall in my scope and then heard the bullet hit him.

I shot him with my AWESOME SIG SHR970  .25-06.

1800 meters with my 22-50 Eliminator.

I also made a nice shot on a praire dog. 23 fence posts, 2 trees and the 3rd hill on the left was the distance.

I killed a few prairie dogs last weekend in New Mexico.

Longest shot/kill was probably close to 220-250 yards... with a .17HMR.

.243 around 200 yards (woods so I had to go around)  Deer.

Almost 175 on a Texas hog.   Same gun.

ETA. The majority of my kills are at close range on Hogs and deer because I hunt mostly woods.

Took a groundhog at just a touch over 500 yards at a friend's farm last year, with a Savage 12 in .223

We had been shooting cans off the fenceposts right in front of where it popped up, so I was ranged and ready....and lucky....I literally had 1 round of good ammo left when I saw him.

The .223 loses ALOT of energy at that range. The Vmax that hit him didn't exit, and I had about 40" of drop at that range.

*sigh* A 2 point buck at 110 yards with a 700 in .270, right through the heart despite all the excitment and stress, sounds like an easy shot out at the range, but for your first time deer hunting, its a different story.

Roger that. My first deer was at 30 yards with a .44 pistol, but it felt like he was a mile away and I had a hard time holding still on him. Live targets do funny things to your shooting abilities, don't they?

Longest shot I have ever killed a deer with was about 60 yards, all the rest have been under 50 yards.

Longest shot on a gray squirrel was (by my estimate) just under 100 yards with a scoped 10/22. Took me 2 shots to hit him though.

Squirrel in the head with my KelTec sub 2k in 9mm about 100yds away at the top of a tree, last round in the mag too. He dropped like a rock, and my friends just looked at me and walked off.

We also set up some clay pigeons at about 300yds and i popped'em all with my K31....it was a good day for me

Not my shot, and it wasn't very long either... but I like telling the story so here you go.

Driving along, my buddy's hanging out the window of my F150 with his Olympic 20" HBAR AR15 with a crappy Leapers scope that has a minimum zoom of like 6 or 8x. We see this rabbit running about 40 yards out, we're driving at like 15 mph, hes running the opposite direction how ever fast his little bunny legs could take him, and my friend nails him first shot. Kablooie! he blows up. It was awesome.

I popped a dog at 75 yards with a Glock 22.  The Fed. Hydra-Shok did not pass through, and the dog ran about 40 yds before he piled up.  Later that year I missed a buck at about 18 yards with a scoped Rem. 7600 in 30.06.

I saw a guy shoot a donkey a mile away with a recoilless rifle once, no twice, no a bunch of times as the dupes keep piling up.

One handed.

Under water.

I cant help it sorry.

Ok for real I took a 280 yard shot at a steel torso target using irons (Bushy 16" HBAR) and hit dead center first shot. It won me dinner from the range master. I was VERY lucky.

150 yards on a buck... the ranges don't get very long in some parts of the Southeast.
That's good news for people like me who shoot a lot of paper and a little game.

Doe at 384 yds with my 7mm-08 shooting handloads-139gr Hornady SST at about 2800fps MV.  The blind was better built  than most people's deck!  More like being at the range than hunting.  I also hit a pronghorn at  324yds with the same rifle/load off shooting sticks.  I really like that rifle.

Longest on a prairie dog was stepped off at 750 paces.  I believe it was right close to 680yds.  I did that a couple years ago near Grass Range Montana with a Savage 12BVSS-S in caliber .223.

The best laser measured shot was this past June in North Dakota using a DPMS Superbull. This one was DRT at 630yds
