I think, by now, that the bias of a liberal-dominated media (no longer just The Press) in the United States should not be a surprise to anyone. In Europe, most major cities have multiple newspapers. By example, a conservative might buy a Christian Democrat leaning paper. A liberal might buy a Social Democrat leaning paper. A Communist might buy a Communist leaning newspapaer. Every adult in town knows which way the newspaper (or tv or radio station) leans. Usually, the truth is in the middle. In a previous life I was an intelligence officer. Intelligence analysts rate their sources of "news" by two independent factors: Reliability and Plausibility: SOURCE RELIABILITY A - Source almost always reliable B - Source usually reliable C - Source usually unreliable D - Source almost always unreliable E - Source reliability unable to be judged (may be first or second time you get info from this source) INFORMATION PLAUSIBILITY 1 - Information highly plausible and very likely to be true 2 - Information is plausible and somewhat likely to be true 3 - Information is questionable and somewhat likely to be untrue 4 - Information violates the laws of physics, etc. and very likely to be untrue 5 - Information plausibility cannot be accurately evaluated So, many years ago, I was disappointed to discover that in cases of American media reporting on political matters, the news received by the American people from their media were often less reliable and plausible than the information received by Soviet or Chinese Communist people from their own propaganda sources e.g. Pravda. The most accurate and objective open-source news source in those days was BBC. Today, this situation is exacerbated by some new, and some old, factors. 1. NEW FACTOR: Today, it appears that many millions of dollars are being donated by wealthy liberals such as George Soiros to PACs like MoveOn.Org which are then used to fund specific pro-liberal media campaigns which are more effective propaganda developed by the Soviet and Chinese govrnments during the Cold War. This has increased the unreliability and implausibility of politically oriented news information from the majority of the American press. This is not just in editorials. The editors carefully screen information, DON'T report news which supports the conservative cause, or, in some instances, DISTORTS or FABRICATES information - the right of a democratic Press protected by our sacred First Amendment. Only information which appears to favor the liberal cause is allowed to reach the American people, in most cases. 2. NEW FACTOR: Over 55% of American households now have broadband access. Many voters now obtain their "current affairs" information from the Internet, including "hive mind" blogs that post unsubstantiated opinions as facts, usually in "blogs" which are picked up on Google searches. (This is a garbage-in, garbage-out process, folks) 3. OLD FACTOR (but still important). The vast majority of Americans trust the media. This may be due to the fact that the vast majority of school teachers in America are also strongly liberal. This makes the majority of Americans susceptible (gullible) to propaganda (which is a tool of both the intelligence community and the media). 4. OLD FACTOR (but still important). The vast majority of Americans subconsciously COUPLE the plausibility and reliability together. Thus only the following combinations are considered: A-1, B-2, C-3, D-4, E-5. Taken in combination, this makes the American electorate unbelievably susceptable, especially in this current election year, to being "bought" by deliberate propaganda being promoted by the liberal press, funded by wealthy liberals like George Soiros. Given the Constituional protections granted to the Press (which is NOT bound by the common standards for libel and slander) makes it difficult to combat. (That's the great thing about propaganda - it is an effective tool). The OP's post is just another example of this trend. It will be difficult to fight this. The only way I can see is a longer-term solution, in which we as Americans sponsor strong competition to the media to establish an equal number of Conservative media and press (e.g. Internet blog sites, newspapers, cable news networks, etc.). This will take a long time to do, and it is not likely such a move will be effective by November 4, 2008. ETA: IMHO the OPs initial citation should be evaluated as "E-5". |
Wonderful reply! Thanks |
I didn't write it doll...I was just posting it as food for thought...I think it is possible.. |

I think were gonna need some MSPaint on this. That aside, was an interesting read. If it were true, I dont think he could do as much damage without congress playing along too. However if his agenda were too far out there, he could spark a nice revolution. If Jefferson saw the current state of affairs he'd surely proclaim that we are long overdue. |

very interesting, thanks for posting that. I agree with most of it but most disagree with old factor 3. I don't the the majority of people in this country trust the media. I would be very surprised to see polls which said this and would be very skeptical of them.Despite the fact that half the country has a below average IQ they're not that stupid. |
