Damn - these things ROCK! I got the 670 for $99. Software does all the work. One button to do anything, works with my receiver, TV, DVR, and DVD player. Amazing. It doesnt get any easier than this thing. |
Sony 55" SXRD TV. Sony upconverting 1080p DVD (just released - no codes worked with my other programmable remote) Denon AVR-787 receiver Motorola DVR\HD cablebox from Verizon FIOS. All the functions I *use* worked fine out of the box. I havent tried anything funcky.... I am a pretty simple guy. I just love the "watch TV button". It turns on the TV and selects the Cable input. It turns on the stereo and selects the TV input. (My DVR stays on 24/7 or it would turn that on) Then I press "watch a movie" and it changes the audio input on the stereo to DVD, and changes the input on the TV to the HDMI DVD input. Then, when I press "off" it turns everything off (except the DVR) Rocks I say! |

Question for you guys: have you ever encountered compatibility issues with the Harmony 880/676 where the volume and directional buttons (left, right, up, down) are "delayed"? By that I mean you are mashing the volume up button and the receiver does not respond ... but all of sudden the receiver "catches up" and you find yourself covering your ears as Gladiator booms over your system at volume 11. I recommended the Harmony to a co-worker because I love mine. He has a rather high-end theater but could not get the 880 to work based on the above. I reprogrammed my 676 to match his system and it didn't work either. His system: Pioneer Elite plasma 50" Onyko Integra 5.8 Yamaha DVD player (5-disc) Sony VCR Motorola PVR/cable box PS My 676 does not have any issues with my (lower-budget) HT. |
