Has anyone here used LogMeIn? I run the PCs at my gun club (used for managing the club's business and gate controller) and would like to setup a simple way to support them from offsite. LogMeIn offers a free version for which we are eligible (we are a registered non-profit corp.). One feature I like is that it can be accessed via a web browser so we don't need to worry about supporting VPN clients.
Thanks. |

Haven't used LogMeIn but I do use GotoMyPC on a daily basis so I can access my workstation from home and get to all my servers in the office. Works great. I'm not 100% on it but I think it's like $17 a month for one computer. The only issue that I've had with it is if you're running Vista and you aren't logged in already to your workstation, the control+alt+delete sequence isn't recognized for some reason. It's fixed in W7 though.
You can also use VNC which is free. |

Try TeamViewer. I really like it. Simple too. Its free as long as you do not use it for commercial purposes. http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx |

Thanks guys.
I'm looking for something super simple because our membership director and VP need something to access the PC running our gate control software. We currently have a VPN setup and then they use VNC to access the PC, but I'm trying to simplify the setup. |

I have LogMeIn on four machines at my house, about 6-7 relatives/family members computers and 4-5 friends computers. That is just for personal stuff. At the office, we put it on our clients workstations or servers that are not signed up on one of our Managed Services packages (we use a system management software for those).
Great product and extremely easy to use.. and its FREE! -d |

It is awesome. I use it to help my mother in law with her computer. What is great, is she can see what I am doing, so I can teach her while I show her how to do it remotely.
Eta: It is much easier to use than to setup RDP port forwarding, and having to be concerned if your ISP switches your IP. It has its own client that updates their servers with the target's current IP. |
