Anyone here watch it? I have been watching it for about a year now. Most of these people are just stupid and put themselves in harms way. But god damn, gives you an idea of how fucked up 3rd world prisons are. Makes an American prison look like a cake walk (not that I'd know what it's like). I saw an episode last night where 2 journalists went to Mogadishu and were kidnapped. Fuck that, I'd just kill myself. I'd take a few with me, but no way I am being held hostage by some fucking savages. I don't have any travel plans out of the country, and I probably wont for awhile

True, but some of these places, the guys have to pay off guards just to get to their cell, then they gotta pay off the block leader just to sleep in the cell. Then they gotta worry about being shot because the guards don't care that the prisoners are really running the show with their guns. Fuck that noise! |

I was told that if I went to Kinshasa I would be detained for a few hours to a day, since my passport was stamped DRC-Goma on it. That was a while ago, so I do not if things have changed, or how true that was.

The best one was the guy who tried to smuggle heroin from southeast Asia, via Moscow, in the middle of the cold war. He escaped and made it back home. I'm always curious if these folks have any kind of criminal record when they get back...
