One of my Grandma's friends just sent me an email for a local auction next weekend.  There are about 90 firearms for sale.

Do any of them look good?  Anything worth bidding on?

Don't know about the firearms, but don't get this tractor.  I had one like it and it was very hard to stop!  Too much weight for mechanical (non-hydraulic) breaks...

For the right price all of them are worth it.

Very nice gun collection

If you go figure out how much you want to spend on each gun.  A friend of mine went to an estate auction yesterday where the guns were sold.  He said that prices were "stupid-high".

'stupid-high' seems to describe such auctions in 2009.

In early 2008 prices were good at the auctions, now not so much.   Sounds familiar.......

auctions around my area go beyond stupid high.  i sold a 60% universal carbine with a repaired stock for 375$, a single shot 12 ga NEF for 200$ and saw a colt police positive in 38 special sell for 1230$.  auctions are for suckers and people who have no idea what anything is worth.

Auto 5
Luger
P-38
Browning 7.35 or whatever calibre that was.

There's a good amount of stuff to look at in that auction. Take about a grand or two with you if you can.

Thanks for the comments.

I need to do a lot of research this week and see what each gun is going for these days and go from there,

Does anyone have some rough values of what some of them should be going for?  My only option is to look on gunbroker and get some comps.
