Took a little trial to get the angle just right, so it clears front and back.  Lifts straight out.

Anyway, Glock 19 with an XC1 light and a spare glock 17 magazine.  I switched out to a FDE glock to help it stand out in the pics a little bit.

The bracket is bolted inside a console vault.  Fairly secure, no rattles.  Not super fast access with the combination lock, but I think that is a decent compromise for the security of a safe.

Very nice.

When you are in the car, can you keep it unlocked and open, or does the weight of the lid cause it to relatch?

Nice project and pics.
I need a step up in security for my storage.

What did you use to make your cuts on the console?

Man that's awesome. I've got that same vault in my 17 Tacoma. If you start to market these, hit me up!

I dont think op cut anything in the console. The vault fits down inside and comes with longer bolts. This is an add-on. Direct bolt fitment.

The actual console safe has a big knob that has to be rotated 90 degrees to open.  There is a spring that keeps the lid open, strong enough to open it on it's own once unlatched, but it isn't gonna fly up or anything.

I could keep it open if so inclined, but I probably won't.  I'm not exactly patrolling behind enemy lines in Indiana.

Correct.  No mods necessary.  The Console Vault (brand name) is a drop in aftermarket item.  I made the bracket to utilize the existing hardware.

Curious why there are threaded inserts in the bottom of the stock console in the first place.  I'm not aware of any factory items that would go there.  Not mad at Toyota for having them though!
