The Libs at MediaMatters are going after the gunny for this remark in regards to the FSA...

... I guess nowadays lazy is our new cripple.
View Quote

Somehow the libs had a problem with that.

The Gunny was promoting his new book: "Gunny's Rules". That is meant to change the welfare/FSA mentality, as this goes after the foundation of the lib voting block, they have a problem with that.
The Gunny's full remarks:

I’ve got a new book that just came out, it’s out right now, you can get it on the Internet or you can pick it up at just about any bookshop. It’s called Gunny’s Rules and basically it tells you how to take command of your life, get off welfare, unemployment, food stamps, and regain a little bit of your self-respect. You know, those things are like quicksand. Once you get in there, it’s real difficult to get back off of it. Welfare back in my time, back when I was a kid, I remember my parents voting for welfare and it was sold to us — like cripples, we got to look after our crippled people in this country. Crippled, those that can’t work, and I guess nowadays lazy is our new cripple.

Sounds pretty spot on to me. Maybe a little rough around the edges, but that's sort of his thing.

I met him a few years back. He is definitely the kind of guy that most people would like to go have a beverage with.

I'll buy two copies and tell Media Matters to stuff their keyboard up their ass.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 11:38:46 AM EST
Good stuff!

But no question it'll get some panties in a twist.

I need to start trolling that place...
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 11:48:24 AM EST
The point of what he was saying is pretty clear to anyone who can think, but political correctness means at least half the population have lost the ability to think.

Link Posted: 12/13/2013 11:48:40 AM EST
The Gunny always see things clearly
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 11:49:34 AM EST

Well, that explains it. That would be a stake thru the heart of the .gov boondoggle.

Just bought a copy.

Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:00:31 PM EST
I'd let him fuck my sister. Dang, I like that guy.

Something tells me he don't give a fuck what they think.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:01:01 PM EST
Media Matters can eat a bag of dicks. Gunny is right on.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:01:53 PM EST
Media matters will help sell a great many of R. Lee Ermey's books via the Streisand effect. Blow back is a bitch.

Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:02:57 PM EST
Gunny Ermey is good people.

Hell, he gave one of his Glock challenge coins to a kid I once knew, just for the hell of it. And got a little DI on another kid who kinda needed a bit of a boot-to-the-rear.

All of this at a PR appearance just after Mail Call was cancelled and he was still promoting the "SNAFU" blooper DVD in person...probably 2006-2007ish. He just happened to have a little downtime, I guess.

No doubt, and in before our own panty twisters show up to defend the FSA.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:05:38 PM EST
I bet he'll get more support for that statement than he loses fans. In fact, I'd say if he doesn't back pedal and sticks to his statement (which he should, it's fair and perfectly true), he'll see a tidal wave of support from normal working Americans....who already like him.

There is no reason that we should not have that discussion on a national level.

We have not been paying for it and other things for a decade now.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:06:29 PM EST
Pretty typical and a perfect example of the issue at hand. People can't accept they are fuckups anymore and have to blame everyone else rather than take responsibility for their own actions and the situation they are in because of their own choices and actions.

Why bust your ass when someone will give you a crutch and pay your way?
Why walk around walmart when they offer a fat cart?
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:07:20 PM EST
Fairly certain that Gunny will be able to deal with it.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:07:42 PM EST
He'll kick their asses up and down the block and then make them choke their selves.

I would imagine that he has his fingers crossed hoping to be the lead news story on every network.

If it inspires only a small percentage of the viewers to purchase his book, he makes out on it.

Hell, I didn't know that he even had a book out until he got this little bit of publicity.

On a related note, remember Gavin McInnes who made the "How to fight a baby" video on Youtube? He was assaulted in the news and on web forums about that video.

I saw him on Red Eye where he said that he gets $3400 for every million views. That video is currently sitting at 11.6 million views. That's around $40,000.

He wouldn't have a fraction of that number if he wasn't held up for criticism.

Speaking THE TRUTH is like cherry-bombing in a well-stocked pond... the stinky fish always rise to the surface.

Gunny spoke the truth. I'm beyond tired of dealing with people who can't/won't accept/see the truth...

I support this answer.

His point is 100% correct. But he should have used another term instead of "cripple". Maybe "handicapped"?
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 12:28:19 PM EST
lol, what are they going to do? Take his lifetime of accomplishment away?

Don't work that way. I'm fairly sure he doesn't give a flying fuck what they think.

Cripple is the word that his generation used. I remember my parents and grandparents using all the time.

Fuck the PC bullshit.

Listened to him on the Black Man with a Gun podcast a few weeks ago. It was awesome!

I couldn't read a book that I knew was written by him.

The whole time my brain would be doing the reading in his voice.

It did it for that quote.

I'm betting Gunny is losing sleep over this one......naaaaaa!

Lol! Da PC Aids got to you! Being a kid in the early 70's, that was the term used. My Grandpa, a WWII Navy vet who screwed up his ankle getting blasted off one deck of a ship down to another used that term on himself. Gunny is an older gentleman, he probably didn't think anything of it.
