Sounds pretty spot on to me. Maybe a little rough around the edges, but that's sort of his thing.
I met him a few years back. He is definitely the kind of guy that most people would like to go have a beverage with. |

Gunny Ermey is good people.
Hell, he gave one of his Glock challenge coins to a kid I once knew, just for the hell of it. And got a little DI on another kid who kinda needed a bit of a boot-to-the-rear. All of this at a PR appearance just after Mail Call was cancelled and he was still promoting the "SNAFU" blooper DVD in person...probably 2006-2007ish. He just happened to have a little downtime, I guess. |

I saw him on Red Eye where he said that he gets $3400 for every million views. That video is currently sitting at 11.6 million views. That's around $40,000. He wouldn't have a fraction of that number if he wasn't held up for criticism. |

My Grandpa, a WWII Navy vet who screwed up his ankle getting blasted off one deck of a ship down to another used that term on himself. Gunny is an older gentleman, he probably didn't think anything of it. |
