Can anyone conform this? Hodge twins claim Liberty safe gave safe codes of J6 protestor upon his arrest 8/30/23. |

When you buy a safe does it have the combo in the owners manual? If so the company has that info to cross refference with the name & serial #. Of course if you paid cash and didn't fill out the warranty card or bought 2nd hand it reduces the chance of a friendly hand over. I changed my combo the very next day ( as soon as I could get a guy out there) So no they don't have my current combo just the one that was listed in the manual. |

They would have had a warrant for information they may have had - the combination of the safe when it was shipped. In the case of Apple, Apple doesn't have your passcode. The feds can present a warrant for it, but Apple doesn't have it. The feds could then demand that Apple break into the phone with brute force or a backdoor, or whatever. And I think most of those demands would fail to pass muster in courts. And, it doesn't even matter, because LE can be inside a Liberty safe in five minutes. "Oh, no, Bob! A Liberty safe! What are we going to do?" |

I think what's being said here (and is actually well known) is that they don't need YOUR combo. |
| I can't speak for all safes, but the majority of digital code safes are shipped with a combination that is unique to the serial number...as long as they know the SN, they can release the combination. I know this, because I've had to request them myself from both Mesa and Sentry. Now, I am not sure they could do anything without the SN....or, if I'd changed the combination from the original. |
