I took along the Puma 1892 .357 lever action when I went to the range tonight.  It's easy to forget how much FUN lever actions are to shoot!  I just ran .38s through it, and managed to burn out the center of the target.  The gun is a laser.  I have Mister Twelve Gauge for home defense, but it strikes me that the lever action would make a fine HD gun––high capacity and mild recoil.  Not loud either.  As a HD gun, do HP rounds feed well in a lever action?

I have the Rossi Puma 92 in 44 mag.  It feeds hollow point ammo without a hiccup.  Lever actions were kinda designed for flat nose ammo to prevent mag tube detonation, so I think the odds of finding one that chokes on hollow points is low.  Still the only way to be sure is to test it with the hollow points you plan to use.

Bump for the day crew.  Who doesn't love a good lever action rifle or carbine?  Any HD users care to chime in?
