Hey, guys. I'm scratching my head here. I had someone who I consider more than an RKI say that he "read somewhere" that 5/8"-28 thread pitch on the muzzle will allow non-permanent attachment of a thread protector and still be ATF legal. I've searched the ATF site, rec.guns, Dogpile, and Google, and am having difficulty verifying this. My rifle is ready to ship, if this is the case. If not, I don't want to get busted. The FBI will be searching my home shortly for a security clearance. Can anybody direct me to a pertinent article or memo? Thanks! Ken Little |
| They are going to search your house as part of your background investigation? When did this start? I've heard of them coming to the house in order to interview you, your neighbors, your family, but never to conduct a search. Is this something new or are you confused? |

Quoted: I was advised by someone who just had one done to expect my house to be searched. I doubt that they will, but I want to be prepared. I just want to make sure that everything is "kosher." Don't worry. To save you the inconvenience of having to stand around, they take care of the search part while you're gone and do the interview later. [:D] |
