I'm moving to VA this summer, from PA, and need to know weather its legal to bring my handguns and AR's from out of state. Would I have to register them when I move there to make them legal?

Nope, you can bring just about whatever you want here, other than a street sweeper. We have a pretty good state here. You don't have to register anything except NFA weapons. The more the merrier.
