I am glad that i only had to wait for the last book to come out, because i could not put the series down.  the graphic descriptions of  persecutions, the way it makes you seem like your the tag along unseen character experiencing everything along the way.  Its the best series i have ever read.  the last book blew me away with Christs return to earth and the battle at the end when satan geets thrown into the pit.

i did get tired of the character building through the whole series, to much talking between them and not enough action at times.

Who read the series and what did you think?

I read the first 7 or 8 of them.

Really interesting....but still just fiction.

I'm sure thery're close, in some ways, to how the end times will play out...but they're still just fiction.

Pretty good, for fiction, though.

I've read most of the series.  In fact, I just got the last book today. Haven't cracked it open yet.

The frist few were ok. But then every book seemed liked half of it was pointless details of who sat next to who and how it made the main character cry when he that about it. I had to stop reading them.

Good fiction but if you want the real story read Revalations, as hard as that can be to understand.

When I was a Christian I read the first seven of them. They first one is okay but after that the writing style takes a real dive. By the fourth book it was painfully obvious that they were just starting to throw these things together. As it went on they got more and more unbelievable. By the time I stopped reading it was almost laughable how stupid the series got. I stopped reading them before I became an atheist, so it wasn't the fact that I didn't believe in it anymore.

The story could be condensed into 3 or 4 books if they cut out the bullshit.

yeah there is alot of useless banter in them, i had to force myself to keep going through a few of the books because of all the dribble but it was well worth it in the end.

When I was a new Christian I was all into the stuff. I tried to read the first book then saw how many people were basing their eschatology from a the  series instead of the Bible.

I did enjoy The Screwtape Letters for some fiction though.

+1. They are poorly written, and read like cheap pulp fiction, just churned out with no real style or sublety, like Lewis or other authors. I wish they would have gotten some talented writers to ghost write it. I quit reading them after 3 or 4.

i think they rely way way too much on FEAR and thats not what Christianity should be about.
