pattymcn started this thread up in the Self Defense and Fitness Forum:Ladies Challenge I just wanted to let all the ladies in here know about this thread, it sounded like a great idea. Stop by and check in. |
Yah baby, at least a 6 pack every night...to keep my six pack ya know Or...maybe that's WHY I don't have a six pack |
No hints, I figured the thread would get more exposure if a link was posted. Plus, I was just trying to get more activity in the other forum. By the way, welcome to the site. Damn, we have a lot of ladies from VA here. ETA: Stop by the VA Hometown Forum and say hi. Virginias Roll Call Thread |

I do 30-45 of cardio. Switch it up every few weeks. I was hooked on the eliptical but now I jog/run again. Then I do weights. I don't do upper and lower on different days. I do one of each major muscle group every day. I like to be sore all over, not just in part of my body. 3 days a week I add to that a killer ab class. Thankfully I have a workout facility where I work - and it's free. I do at least 15 reps on the machines with a moderate-heavy weight. Free weights I'll use for biceps and triceps, and I love love love the medicine ball. It's your BEST workout friend. You can get them at Target or wherever for about 15 bucks. I highly recommend doing abs at least 4 days per week. If your core is strong, you will be amazed at how much better your body will feel in general. It's simple to do at home. Also, get a body ball. SO many things you can do to work your core with that. After joininng ab class, I can sing better, run better, I feel better in general. All because I'm strong in the middle. The good thing about abs are you only have to do about 10 minutes a day and you'll start seeing results. No kidding! WORK THAT MIDDLE BABY!!! The stronger your body is, the stronger your mind will be! |
Dang girl, you wore me out by just reading that... I think I'll go have a smoke and think about it.

See that I can believe. That and the stronger my body is the less lip I have to take. ......LOL

I know what you mean about the Abs being the ticket. I need to concintrate on my abs. Okay challenge here the first one to move a quarter up their abs wins the quarter kay? lol No one hold their breath now! Green Ammo you've got bronchitis? Ewh! Take care of yourself! Pull out that humidifire. Do to yourself what you'd do for your hubby and kid kay? Don't neglect yourself! Patty *ETA* Sigziggy - a full can of beer equals weight lifting .......well you know until it's empty. Of course a quick sprint to the fridge can be construed as cardiovascular exercise [there are a certain amount of calories burned swatting the kids on the butt and ordering one up too].

Sure does! yesterday, I fell off the diet wagon. I was feeling pretty down and depressed, and ate some potato chips and some chocolate. Thinking it would make me feel better, it made me feel disgusting. I really didn't want to go to the gym after work last night, but I went, and actually spent an hour and a half there and really worked myself hard. then I went to the grocery store and stocked up on power bars, yoghurt, veggies, and bought a value pack of chicken breasts, roasted them when I got home (ate one) and packaged them individually for lunches this week. So my bad day turned out pretty well, and I feel good this morning. Lesson learned for me, just cuz you fall off the wagon during the day, doesn't mean the entire day has to be a waste. |

daisy - I find when I have those bad cravings if I take an extra Vitamin B6 they go away quicker. Hang in there though, I think its better to induldge [with limits] than to deny all of the time too. Congratulations again on your success. You're quite the inspiration. Patty |

Absolutely agree Patty! I look at days I fall off the wagon as "reward" days. Your body isn't going to freak out over one or two days of extra calories. Plus, you most likely feel crappy after you indulge, which ends up making you even more motivated to succeed. I find it's helpful to permit myself small quantities of things I might cheat with, such as one hershey mini candy bar after lunch or something. That tends to keep me from buying a full size candy bar later in the day. Mmmmmmmm...chocolate |
+1, I think I'll go have a boston cream pie and a pot of coffee and think about it.

awh come on, join the fun. You're going to feel so left out when we're all sore and tired and you're sitting there eating that pie...........er.......well.....okay just once piece okay? Patty |
