I have been interested in getting into the DOC side of things for sometime now.
What is some advise you would give a LEO who is interested in making the change?
What type of attitude should one have in order to survive?
What should I do to see if I am the type of person that would make a good CO?
I am tired of somethings that LEO's have to dial with on a day to day basis.
What are some of the pro’s and con’s of the switch  from LEO to DOC?
I really would like to know what I’m getting into before I go through all the stress of a new job and leaving the old.
Any former LEO’s who made the switch?
If so how do you like it?
1 Definite pro is the pay raise I would be getting.
5 yr vet LEO = 21,000 without OT. OT=2,000+
Starting CO pay in Missouri I believe is 23,000 depending on facility.
