I'm looking for the best, most reliable motion sensing outside LED light to go over my garage.  Something that will cover 180 degrees. Also, I could use a smaller one for my back door.

Home Depot has a few for $80 but looking for quality.

Here is what I have . It is a Cooper/Eaton product . I have friends who work there and this is an awesome light

MST18920L, It is motion sensing and light sensing and has a timer . I leave it on 24/7 and it comes on when it detects movement. It has been up for 2 years and no complaints . Uses 27 watts of power

I am looking for a solar powered 2 or 3 lamp light that can be on low at night, and go bright when motion is detected.  Battery back up is a plus.

I'm interested in this topic.  As an aside, I installed Honeywell timer switches to control my outdoor LED can lights and candelabra lights.  The switches are awesome - they go in the decora switch plates and you program the date, time, GPS coordinates and the switch computes when you need light.  Adjusts for daylight savings time as well.  They have built in battery backup which is a big plus as well.

Now back to LED security lights!

ETA - I now use 2 Heath Zenith security lights that come on at dusk and off at dawn and switch between 150 and 500 watts each.  They are great but they don't last very many years before self destructing.  I'd like to save some watts and have something more durable.

If you want higher end, ignore the Home Depot recommendations. Check out RAB lighting.

The home depot ones that are $140 are good. Blue Tooth connectivity to make adjustments to how long light is on and sensitivity also.

For wired the Defiant 180 degree Blade motion security light is pretty awesome.

For solar the 1000 lumen MicroSolar 126 LED has been great for me so far.  Solar is nice not just because it's less wiring to screw with but your security is still active during power outages.

I have nothing to say good about RAB. Seems their seals allow water to infiltrate and kill them RFN. The best of the best is Lumecon. Personally I have a Lithonia OLAW23. It is dusk to dawn. You would have to install a motion sensor in addition if you want that feature. Home Depot sells Lithonia. Two years and zero issues with the Lithonia. 4years and no issues @ work with Lumecon, but like anything that is "best," it comes at a price.
