I have a M962 on my MK18 Mod 0. I want to keep the light on the gun but would like to upgrade it to LED. Has anyone does this and did you see an improvement?

Not an M962 but with an M951.  Runtime and brightness improvement.  Very happy with the upgrade.  It's still a large, heavy light but it's very rugged and I still like it.

Did you buy a conversion kit for it? If so do you mind sharing that?

Can you please state the exact kit that you used?  I've seen all kinds of conflicting info about needing to do mods, etc.  Thanks.

I just switched out the lamp assemble.  No mod...just like changing an incandescent but switched for an LED version.  I'll try to dig up exactly what I bought.  It has been going strong and I haven't had to change it in a long time (another nice benefit o LED).

Does your 962 use the P60 lamp assembly?

ETA: I see it takes the MN10 or MN11 lamp assembly.  This is going to be different.

Maybe there is an LED MN10 replacement.

Surefire says mine uses a MN10 and MN11 lamp.

Yes, I had.
When I get back home, I'll try to look up the information.

Cool, thanks.  I'm looking for an M951, but have read that the P60 kits don't work.  I just got some NIB P60s so if worse comes to worse I'm sure it will work in them.

I think I ended up with a Surefire P61 LED.  I read a bit on here about the Malkoff products but ended up getting some P61s for cheap enough I was happy.

I spoke to a Malkoff guy at a match that they sponsored last year, and can confirm that they make a drop-in replacement LED for the Millennium series weaponlights.

I have an M951 with a KX-4 head, no complaints. Huge improvement in battery life.

You'll need this adapter. Here

Replaced my M962 bulb with a Malkoff device. Improved battery life and much brighter indoors. Bought the surefire used though so YMMV.

After Malkoff install:

Malkoff makes (or used to make since I don't see it on their website) a drop-in called the MD10 that replaced just the bulb. I think it was around 300-325 lumens, so while it isn't terribly impressive compared to current weaponlights, it gets the job done. It cost me aobut $75 from Kevin at Bright Flashlights. You might go check with him in the industry section and see if he has any left.

Surefire also used to make some LED replacement heads called the KX9 and KX9T. I bought a KX9T around the end of last year when I guess dealers must have been selling them on clearance. Normally they were around $250-$300, but I got mine for about $150. The KX9T is nice since it give the light fairly good throw while maintaining a fairly large hot spot. The downside beyond a ridiculous price is the head is large, making an already bulky light even bulkier and they only came in black or tan if color matching bothers you. They can still be found on some online vendors, but considering the price, the much cheaper Malkoff MD10 might be a more worthwhile solution.

Thanks for the help.

I have a OpticsHQ TLS TX4 which I bought from TNVC
The company have stopped making these LED conversion, but still have them in stock.
If you contact Vic an TNVC, he can give you the contact information, which he supplied me, and make the order by phone.
He is running a pretty deep discount now, since he wanted to get rid of the rest of his inventory.

I posted here a while ago, but none is interested.

(ETA) Here is their current info:
