Hey guys I am looking at some knives to recommend to our buyers to start stocking in our stores. (sports authority) We have Kershaw, Gerber CRKT and buck. I am looking at knives under $100, Tactical folder, fixed, whatever. What are you guys using. I know there are some great knives out there that are in the $200 range, but I don't think that is within our customer base. However if you are so impressed with a knife above $100 that you are really impressed with, List it If it's popular I'll try them out.

The CRKT knives I carry are pretty popular, But I only have a couple ones.  What are your opinions on their knives?

Cant go wrong with Benchmade. They have four different grades of knives and most of the lower two are around that price point.

I like my CRKT M16 Zytal or whatever it is that I got of Steepandcheap.

I want a benchmade so bad it hurts...but I'd never carry it.  I'd be to afraid of losing it...

I am looking at the Benchmades but I am not sure if they send to department stores like the Sports Authority. I have 2 myself and they are good knives, I never realized they had 3 tiers.    I am not sure how a $200 knife will sell at a dept. store. Not sure if that is really our customer base.
Alot of my customers are young Marines that want a decent knife but don't want to spend alot of money. Most want something tactical, Folding is mainly what we carry in the tactical, But the few fixed sell quick, I was looking at the cord wrapped fixed knives, what do you guys think of those? What about blade style? Serrated? Tanto,???

CRKT makes good quality knives that sell at reasonable prices.

You might want to add some Spyderco, & Benchmade knives to your lineup. The Al Mar Hawk & Osprey are very fine quality knives too.

Benchmade and Spyderco make some of most popular folding knives these days and the quality of both can be extremly good using excellent steels, handle materials and craftsmanship.

Another brand that I've become highly impressed with from the Sandstorm I picked up in trade and other models I've seen from interested peaked from the Sandstorm is BarkRiver. Excellent quality knives.

Bark River knife and tool

For tactical fixed blades SOG has always made some nice knives in that price line.

SOG knives

,not to forget their multitools also these days.

There are a lot of good suggestions on this thread.  You'll also want to sell a few higher-end knives as well...

I'm a big fan of Mercworx, and Wilson.  Maybe get one Jay Fisher or Dietmar Kressler knife in a locked case, so people can see what an expensive knife looks like, and you just never know, you might actually sell it.

I like me Gerber FAST DRAW.  Got it for 40 bucks.  Great spring assisted open.  I love it so must a bought five incase they quit making them!
It's like having an auto opener but you have to actually touch the blad to open it.  By touch I mean just barely.  I can get this open faster than my auto

Well for fixed blade at that price you can't go wrong with Ranger Knives
With folders: Spyderco and Kershaw both make great ones for the money

Most of the guys in my platoon really like the cheap automatics. Boker is building the Magnum Ak 47 series and theyre cheap and a lot of they guys really like them. S&W, CRKT, Kershaw and SOG are also popular.

Personally I use Microtech, but I'm the only one in my platoon to use them as theyre a little bit outside of most peoples budget.

You also might want to make sure you have a good selection of Gerbers and Leathermen as nearly every one in my platoon has one.

We stock pretty much all the Gerber and letherman tools. Outdoors sales at the store I work at has been lack to say the lest due to poor selection and a staff that only knows the difference between a pump and auto shotgun. I have been in this store a few weeks and I have already cut the negative rating by half.

Spyderco is also on my list

I am looking into getting some high quality knives. Well see what happens.

If you are in AZ We have the Tristar 12gauge synthetic stock, 26" barrel for 149.00

Spyderco. I would recommend Benchmades (great knives) but I have doubts they would sell in any reasonable volume at their price point.
