Ok, it is late at night and I can not sleep but the thought came to me. If you were being held by two assailants on each side of you and a third bad guy was about to shoot you in the face would it be possible to break your hand free and pull your knife to split the bullet thereby killing both assailants on the left and the right? Then you could use your free hand to disassemble the third attacks gun or just plunge the knife into his throat. Maybe I should just try to go back to sleep.

This one is gonna go 8 pages.

Popcorn in microwave.

Yes. It would work if the blade of the knife was sharp enough and positioned EXACTLY where the middle of the bullet would hit.

Whether or not it hit the people holding you would depend on their heights and body positions relative to the path of the bullet halves.

I saw something like this on one of those TV shows... it might have been Shooting USA.

A guy shot an axe, split the bullet and popped two balloons, one on either side of the axe.

We can test it if you want to, you hold my razor sharp ZDP189 Spyderco Endura and I'll shoot my 9mm at it, you can even pick the bullet weight!

Only if it was a Benchmade with S30V steel and happened to be "Knife of the Year 2006" and called a Rukus with the model number 610....

And then, yea, it just might be possible

It would probably split the bullet but separate only enough to put BOTH eyes out plus drive the knife blade back and give you a splitting headache.

Send me your pistol and your knife, and I'll get a thread going for volunteers.  I'll keep good care of the pistol and knife in the meantime, of course!
