Since I am in Afghanistan, we do not get a lot of recent TV. Last night I ordered a new TV show from Itunes and downloaded the first 4 episodes that are out for it. Kid Nation. Thats the one that was in the news a while back about them making kids work and maybe breaking child labor laws. The deal is, 40 kids out in a Old West Ghost town for 40 days running shit themselves. Holy Shit. What a great show. I thought it may be so so, but I really like it. It's hilarious. every week they have the 4 groups they are split up into fight it out for the best jobs in town, with the best pay. If all the teams finish the challenge in the alloted time, they get to pick between two rewards for the entire town. First episode was the kids bitching about having one out house. the first reward was a TV set. The kids went ape shit. Then they found out the second reward was 7 more outhouses. Really caused a lot of soul searching for the kids. They picked the outhouses. Anyway, it's probably old news to you guys, but I think the show is pretty damn good. Aviator |
| Having been on a reality show before, I'm very familiar with what goes on behind the scenes. I can assure you that those kids are hardly alone and without direction. The producers live on the set and direct the participants in whatever way the producer thinks will make the show more interesting. Most of what the kids are doing on this show is strongly coerced. |
