He's asked me to link this here. OP in this thread ordered a blemished Spartan logo lower. Receives a no logo lower. Contacts JBO, JBO says "Your SOL, it's blemished." Ad indicated that the blemished lowers were Spartan logo lowers with blemishes. JBO refuses to make it right, then starts digging up info on friend and starts threatening to send info to his employer about not working during work hours.

I mean, I can sort of see both sides. The lack of a marking is a blemish. Consumers have had unrealistically high standards for blems for years (I have had ones I could never find the issue on, and that seems to be the norm rather than the exception). And they were sold as-is and they are functional. I would have expected a roll mark as a consumer, but if the Spartan logo was all sorts of fucked up would he be happier or more disappointed? Personally I think it would be considered a blemish to me and I probably wouldn't have complained.
Oh well, in to watch for the resolution. |

I've ordered a ton of stuff from jbo and they've always been great. Hate to say it but the only thing that's guaranteed with a blem receiver is its functionality. You buy them when you plan on painting the rifle anyway. You have no idea of what the cosmetic flaw will be but you know it'll work. Sounds like a whiny complaint. |

Implying we are in a, "bit of a financial pinch" is a bit of a stretch. Can you confirm what proof you have of said statement? Expressing your discontent with the situation is fine, but I wouldn't suggest putting false information out there on the internet. Our financial state (which is doing just fine) is not based around a handful of blem lower receivers we sold at a 30% discount to consumers. Our financial state has nothing to do with the terms and conditions on the sale of a blem lower receiver. My opinion is they were intentionally trying to pull a fast one. A lower with absolutely no Spartan logo on it and they are still calling it a "Spartan blem". |

Some retailers are retarded. For those that missed it, JBO added an additional 10% discount with the promo code HOOKEM to antagonize the Texas ATM fans after they screwed the pooch and sent a crap lower. I hope the the thousands of dollars of lost business was worth the $50 they saved. |

They removed the arock thread.
Joebob is a member here, and well liked. I personally have spoken to him via message (on this forum and others) on a few occasions. He has always been respectful and had great customer service. I'm not familiar with that forum you linked but they seemed to be a less evolved version of our own general discussion forum. Piling on over a disagreement that's iffy at best. If the guy didn't want the lowers he could have shipped em back for store credit or rejected them at the FFL. After you bring them home I'm not sure what else the seller can really do. |
| I'm surprised by this. I've bought from Joe Bob Outfitters a couple times in the past and always got good service. I can see both sides of the issue as it relates to actually having a Spartan roll mark and not having said roll mark making it a blem, but the Arock threat is bullshit, and immediately negates your position in it's entirety. That's grounds for going with the nuclear option. |
