"So, what are your hobbies?" Do you answer "shooting, building ar15's, mag dumps" |
|
Depends on where the job will be - - Marine Corps - okay - Armalite - okay - Sierra Bullets - okay - Hodgon Powder - okay (Although you may need to explain the uncommon term "mag dump"; some might think you mean "magnum"!) - MMM - okay there, too. Who gives a flying hoot (you thought I was going to say fuck, didn't you?) what they think, we have the guns. |
I answer "reading, history and outdoors". I read about guns, their history, and go outdoors to shoot them. Any other answer is potentially damaging, unless you're VERY lucky and the company and hiring staff are gun nuts. Seldom the case. |

Something you do w/ your family always leaves a warm & fuzzy feeling. Now the last question of the interview is always : " So do you have any questions for us?" This is a tough one, so I have several memorized, here's one : " How have the goals & policies of (Company name here) changed over the past 5 years & how has this effected your individual styles of leadership & management ?" The jaws hit the table & the stuttering will begin. You will leave in command of the interview |
Tagged. Very nice, thank you. |

- Volunteering time to my community - Being a Big Brother - Cooking & Baking - Spending time with my family If they ask you about what you do in your spare time you can always ask them "how do my hobbies have any bearing on my ability as a potential employee of [company name]?" If they decide to spike the ball back in your court and say, "Because it gives us a better idea what kind of person you are" or some crap like that, then you have to decide if it would be easier to lie and give them some standard party line or become confrontational and risk not getting the job. I woudl venutre a guess and say that any challenging responses are going to reduce your chances of getting hired... companies are looking for lacky monkies who do as their told without question... not someone who questions everything...

| I interviewed once with a prominent aerospace company and was asked what my hobbies were. When I told them target shooting I was informed they had their own range on company property and even had competitions! The interviewer even claimed to be a gun owner....................never did get the job offer though. |
Shooting = Enjoying the freedoms of the Constitution of the United States Building AR15's = Tinkering with mechanical objects Mag Dumps = Cleaning the earth by picking up and recycling metals on the ground |
