I have a friend who is relocating to the Harrisonburg, VA area so his wife can attend school.

He is a former Marine (arty, I think) and current National Guard (sniper on a scout platoon).  They were planning on his working security duty at the Lynchburg Airport, but the recent increase in Federal Airport Security personnell has made this an iffy proposition.

His wife asked my advice (bad move right there!) as to what jobs a person with a military background should look for.

My first impression was that the US military specializes in killing people and breaking things, so the BATF came to mind.  She doesn't like the law enforcement idea, and really is not happy with him in the NG (they've got 2 kids under 3 years old).  I suggested man-ho, but that didn't fly either.

Suggestions?  Anyone in the area able to help a brutha out?
