Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

I currently have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  It is an export model for the Middle East.  At speeds greater than 120-130KPH an overspeed chime starts to ping away driving me crazy.

Does anyone know how to disable it?  Is there a separate speaker located under the dash I can rip out (perhaps shoot out)?

Thanks

Might want to check on a Jeep forum. Or turn the radio up.

the circuitry involved is all hard wired in a module, and unfortunately the only way to disable it is with a Chrysler diagnostic tool. That Vehicle overspeed warning is only enabled on vehicles exported to the MidEast. Looks like the only way you'll get it disabled without a dealer is to find the chimebox on the module under the dash and kill it with fire

If its anything like a mercdes, its programming in the instrument cluster.  There is no seperate module.  Simple reprogramming would take care if it, provided you could find anyone who knew what the hell they were doing.

Crap!  As I suspected.  Perhaps I can bribe the service manager to make it go away.  It is a fleet vehicle and not mine.  Otherwise the dash would have already been torn apart.

Thanks Guys.
