When I try to play a You-Tube Vidio it says I must have Java Scrip disabled or need to install the newer Java player.
I can't install the new player because my system is not up to par. I was playing You-tube just fine untill I reinstalled my
OS ,and installed Avast .  How do I check to see if Java player is disabled?

Thanks   Bob

Didn't you change your avatar for a while?  I'm glad this one is back.
If you didn't change it I must have been on drugs.  Sorry.

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

this will tell you if you have java installed on your machine. If you just did a fresh install you are going to need to download it and install it.

as far as i know, youtube uses flash and javascript. not java.

to turn on javascript you need to click the check box in your browser's settings/preferences area
