This is a line from a song back in the early eighties.
I don't remember who sang it and I don't remember any other words. These words and the tune that goes with them have been constantly popping into my head for the last few days.
My kids (and my animals) are starting to look at me funny when I sing this one line and no more.

It's an R.E.M. song.  It may be the end of the world as we know it, but it's the begining of a whole new America.  A bettr America.

The next line is:  "And I feel fine!"

Btw, I tested my singing with some other songs and I still get the same funny looks form the kids and animals. I think they must be amazed, that with a voice like mine, I don't have a recording contract.[thinking]

I used to watch Ugly Kid Joe play in people's backyards when I was at school in Santa Barbara.

Remember that MTV music awards when Stipes kept taking off shirts with messages on them.  He had one for gun control and then one for pro choice.  I remember sayin to whoever I waas with that it is OK to choose to kill an unborn child but not OK to choose a handgun to protect yourself.  That makes sense.

I actually like that song and some of their other music but I can't listen to it cause they are such dickheads.
