Today is our 14th day in the hospital. They are giving her all the pain medication possible and it isn't working. She is hurting so bad that she can barely acknowledge our daughter in the room.

This sucks.

Discovered on the 3rd of Sept last year that she had stage iv colorectal cancer.

We have been fighting with chemo and now her blood counts are precluding any sort of treatment, even experimental.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support.

No, this is not her.  Mishi hasn't really gotten the ARFCOM thing, but she is conservative, black and female.

Please everyone reading this, get a colonoscopy. I got one at age 38 and they found pre-cancerous colon polyps. I now get one every three years. Please do this, avoid a preventable cancer.
My heart goes out to her and Phatmax.
I already said a prayer for her and you.

This is very true, Mishi is in a very small group. The docs think she was between 20-25 when this started.

Get a scoping, it is worth it and helps baseline your risk early.

ETA: and can catch something early enough to save your life.

Yes, ESPECIALLY if you have a family history.

My maternal grandfather two of his brothers, and their sister all died of colon cancer.  My mom has had polyps removed, and one of her sisters had a piece of her colon removed because of early stage cancer.

My mom does genealogy, and believes that several ancestors died of it.

I'm 52 and have been through three colonoscopies.  It's unpleasant, but I'd do it every weekend to avoid going through what my grandfather endured.
