Mine is. Thought all of them were.

Yup

Had a Dob that was the same way. My wife would mop after he was done drinking.

Mine is terrible. Good thing he is an outside dog!

my border collie is the same way

My Lab and my Golden are the same way. They like to play in the water bowls.

We use a 13 gallon trough outside for them and they take naps in the water.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:12:34 PM EST
Yes, feral dog soaks the whole kitchen floor.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:12:36 PM EST
Our chocolate is as dumb as a box of rocks. Messy eater, messy drinker, food in the water bowl and a goofball in general. All our others labs we have had in the past were pretty good though.

Our Husky looks at the chocolate like O_o wtf is wrong with you and why are you in my house? Its funny you can literally watch Maya react to Amber's retardation with disgust lol
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:12:37 PM EST

Mine is.
His water bucket is outside for that reason.
And when he goes outside to drink he has to wait until he's thru dripping before he's allowed back in.
After he licks his lips about 4 times he's gtg.

A friend has a boxer that's one sloppy drinker. Has to keep a towel by the bowl, and every time she passes by she does a bit of maintenance. You can hear that dog drink from three rooms away!
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:14:38 PM EST
Ive got two , a 70 lb female and a 95 lb male , the big goofball sticks his whole muzzle in the water to drink and then drips all over the house for 10 minutes

he does some funny shit
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:14:42 PM EST
My guys drink out of a 3.5 gallon but sometimes like to stand in it... that makes a mess...
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:15:11 PM EST
My Rottie dribbles all over the place. Happiness is her coming over and resting her sopping wet muzzle on my knee just after she slurped up a gallon of water... Most of which is all over the floor. Her under-bite doesn't help any!

Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:15:40 PM EST
Yep - mine can get water on the back of her neck.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:17:19 PM EST
I can tell when Banjo has been drinking because he has water all over his face.

Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:17:58 PM EST
hell yes she is, i think just as much makes it out of the bowl, that makes it in her mouth
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:22:19 PM EST
Yup, I can tell just by the sound if my Shepherd is drinking or my Lab. After my lab is done drinking there is usually water all around the water bowl.
I love her though.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:22:45 PM EST
Oh yeah, it's water everywhere. Walking away from the bowl and water just falling out of his jowls.

Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:25:26 PM EST
Our GSD doesn't drink out of her water bowl. She only drinks out of the toilets. She slops water all over the bathroom floor.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:25:29 PM EST
Mine takes a mouthful of food and runs into her kennel and eats it one piece at a time.

no it doesnt, thats how all dogs drink, that doesnt explain why a lab puts equal amounts in the mouth and outside of the bowl

Ours drops 5-6 pieces on the floor about 6 feet away from the dish.

Sloppy is an understatement.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:38:08 PM EST
All dogs slobber when they drink. They like it that way.

Did you expect your dog to casually sip water from a long stemmed wine glass?

We kept our Lab's water bowl outside, even in winter.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:39:26 PM EST
Mine walks off from his bowl and I swear half a gallon will pour out of his mouth.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 6:44:18 PM EST
My current GSD is about the worst I have seen, having had many types of dogs. Only beat out by a drop by the basset hounds. Never had any labs since I was a kid and cant say how sloppy they were as they were outside dogs.

Oh yeah.. Luckily labs always clean up every crumb in the end though lolol

My german shorthaired pointer sticks his muzzle into the water until his ears are touching the water. He sloshes and drips water all over the damn place. I love him though.

I have a Husky and a lab. The Husky is like a fine tuned Ferrari and the lab is like a demolition car, a station wagon at that

My arfcom mutt slops water everywhere ,
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:12:21 PM EST
Yep. My lab probably get more water onto the floor than into her belly.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:15:17 PM EST
Yes.
I think her last 'drink' she fills her mouth full of water without swallowing, and then it pours out for 10' when she walks away.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:22:08 PM EST
Mine at dog camp does the "water bowl" dance. Picture a retarded drunk kid with maraca shakers and substitute a full water bowl for the maraca shakers.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:22:24 PM EST
I thought this was going to be another one of the "I fucked up my knee because of the dog thread" I was gonna have to kick your ass, Jack has fucked up enough of our backpacking trips

He does make a pretty big mess though, maybe it's the Amish in him?
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:23:44 PM EST
My Golden leaves a trail for about 8-10 feet from the bowl.

3 and you could wash a car some days....

The last Lab we had was. Her water bucket was outside. She was a yard dog.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 7:59:23 PM EST
One of mine sticks his face almost to his eyes into the bowl and then sucks it up as he pulls his head out.

We call it snorkeling.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 8:02:43 PM EST
My pyr is like a hose with a pin hole leak. Sucks walking across the kitchen floor in socks.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 8:04:02 PM EST
I have a Basset Hound, take a guess.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 8:05:11 PM EST
Our Golden is.... she'll leave a easy to follow trail of water dribble for at least a few yards.
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 8:05:38 PM EST
OP -
My lab slobber drinks exactly the same as yours.
I have to keep her water bowl on a towel just to keep the inevitable water deluge to a minimum....
Link Posted: 10/6/2014 8:07:46 PM EST
Mine thoroughly enjoys slapping the water with his paw until he, and everything around him, is a satisfactory level of soaked.
