I picked up a Savage MKII FV-SR  last week, and after shooting it I am impressed to say the least.
I know steel isn't exactly great to measure groups off of, but it's what I have setup in my back yard. But I'm consistently shooting groups that the internet is saying I shouldn't be getting on paper, with a average hit leaving roughly a .52-.56in 'splat' in on the steel
All shots taken at 50yards, CCI Standard Velocity ammo, prone off elbows (Don't need no stinkin' rest, or sling, or sandbags ) The circles are outlines of a nickle 5 rounds per group

My experience has been that Savages have all the money put into the barrels. It may be ugly, but it will shoot if nothing else.

This Savage is my 3rd .22lr that's threaded for a suppressor, I keep telling myself that I'm going to do that with the next profit sharing bonus I get from work, but something else always comes up .

Savage does make ugly guns that shoot extremely well.

CNC has definitely been a game-changa.  It really doesn't cost much more money to make an accurate gun than it does to make a shitty one anymore.

Savage made accurate guns before CNC.  I've got an old Savage 99 in .300 Savage that is a sweet shooter.

That's pretty good, mine is not that accurate, but it is a very nice rifle. Great price too.
