I'll try and keep this short.  I'm 25 years old.  I recently got out of a year and a half relationship with a girl that I went to high school with.  Was crazy about her in high school, but didn't have the balls to approach her.  I finally got the chance and made it happen.  Anyways, we start dating.  We immediately hit it off and everything goes great for about 6 months.  We got into a few stupid fights, mostly drunken drama.  Nothing too serious.  We did take a few short breaks, but would always come back even stronger.  She lived about 45 minutes away so she didn't meet too many of my friends while we dated.  Anyways about 2 months ago things started getting bad.  She was constantly traveling for work and just didn't have time.  And finally she said she didn't have the time and I deserved better.  I gave her space and a few weeks later she came running back to me.  Well shortly after that we started fighting and it got pretty ugly.  I said some harsh things and we split.  I still thought deep down we would end up together.  We just had an incredible attraction to eachother physically and emotionally.  So I cut her out, don't call don't text.  I really only talked about her to one of my buddies.  He knew exactly how I felt about this girl.  I guaranteed him we would still end up married.

So I still hadn't heard from her and I get a text from a buddy saying she just showed up to a party he was at.  Along with a bunch of my other friends.  Her cousin was friends with a bunch of my highschool buddies.  So the next morning the same guy calls me and tells me my buddy, who was the one I talked to about her, went home with her.  At first I didn't believe it, but he was serious.  My heart dropped in my stomach.  Go ahead and call me a pussy.  So I call him and know answer.  He finally responds to a text saying nothing happened.  Her cousin wanted him to go to the bars with them and they all crashed at her house.  Deep down I wanted to, but didn't believe him.

So the next Friday rolls around (this past Friday) and I'm at a bar with all my buddies.  Guess who rolls in?  My buddy and my ex.  I went up to him and asked if he was fuckin serious?  He kept saying, let's discuss this when your sober.  Man my fist was clinched ready to fuckin pop him.  The bar we were at had two LE's at the door, so I would have went to jail for sure.  Anyways I told him and her how big of pieces of shit they were and asked my buddy to join me in the parking lot.  He refused.  This isn't a highschool bullshit scenario where everyone fucks their buddies ex's.  He was the only one I trusted enough to talk to.  He fucked me over and now I want to fuck up his face.

Ain't worth it, plenty more women out there who will be better for you.  Let your ex-buddy enjoy the drama of being with crazy.  He will pay for it in full from having to deal with her.

Nah, I see no reason. There's some betrayal there. I agree with the move on part, but moving on is moving on. Put the ex AND the friend in the past.

Just cut him out of your life entirely. You can't win by kicking his ass, as attractive and even imperative as that may seem now.

Keep in mind that he's now going to be subject to her same bullshit drama games that were slinging you around in the past.

You just learned:

a.  He isn't your friend

b.  She is nothing but trouble and not worthy of your time

You did the right thing not hitting him.  She is not worth an assault charge and a trip to the county lock-up.

Try to put it behind you.  A girl who would do that to you is nothing but trouble down the road.  You learned the easy way.

With the greatest of respect, you are an idiot.  Just read what you have written.

Your girlfriend is Mary Jane Rottencrotch in real life.  And yet, you care about her?  You should be very glad that now you know who she really is.  You should be thanking God that you didn't marry her.  Imagine how wretched the rest of your life would be?

Now just smarten up and find a better woman.  I hope you are not angry with me for my tough talk.  But someone has to tell it to you.

True love, you can't start it like a car, or stop it with a gun.

She may be banging your buddy to get back at you, next time you like a girl don't stop calling her or texting her just to show her that you are the boss. You learned a valuable lesson, and if she is more happy with your buddy so be it.
