Subject asks it...

Thanks

I'd suspect not...

Liability and all that...

Let me guess... converting the brass to 300 BLK or other caliber and you have severe OCD?
Link Posted: 10/29/2013 8:30:49 AM EDT
Why?
Link Posted: 10/29/2013 8:31:42 AM EDT
The headstamping helps to increase the hardness of the brass, so I suspect not.

Now, if you are willing to buy a million round lot, you could specify your own headstamp, but a case with out a headstamp is not a good idea in a high pressure cartridge.

Yes. Contract to have it made.

You'll have to buy a large amount, obviously.

Starline will do this.

Just mark it yourself.  When I fireform wildcats I just touch the base with a polishing wheel in a dremel.  Shiny spot = no longer marked caliber.

No markings at all?
LC doesn't say shit about the cartridge. Just LC, year, nato cross circle thingy.

+1 on Starline, I seem to recall they had a 10,000 piece minimum for custom head stamps. There was some no-head stamp .308 that was sold a number of years ago, it was snapped up quick. Figure most folks would buy 500-1000 pieces, 10,000 isn't out of the ordinary. You'd just have to be willing to put your money out there for ~90-120 days. I'd be interested in buying some if you decide to go that route.

All in good fun.  But I would bet there is lots of unmarked brass out in the world.  I often wonder about the ammo some clandestine ops use so as to be not so easy to ascertain country of origin.
