A couple of weeks ago, my mom and sister came down here to Eureka, NV.  We went to the Opera House, which is supposedly haunted.  She took this pic, and is trying to tell me that the shadow at hte top of the stair well there is a ghost.  I don't belive it.  What do you think?

I believe that there are things in this world that cannot be explained, perhaps ghosts, but that is a lens flare from the off camera lighting to the left. Either that or dust on the sensor/film.

Do you mean the ghost standing there with it's left hand on it's hip?

Thats what I told her it is, glare from the lights in the room.

Yeah, thats what it looks like.  I think the arrow is pointed at what would be the ghosts head, and there are what look like two hands, but I just think it is a shadow that came out to look that way.

looks like the lens was dirty.  Most of the top half of the pic looks distorted by a smug on the lens.

Here is one more picture that was enhanced a bit by a friend my mom emailed the pic to.  I still don't know, I think it is just a chance of glare.

I have never noticed a siginificant optical difference until they were filthy. You can get the shit pretty dirty without it affecting much, cause most of the time the smudges are so out of focus.

you got a bigger version of the pic? thats too small for analysis.

The door was open too far for that to be the door knob, I know that, it just does not line up.

Those are the only pics.  Just some snap shots she took with a cheap camera.  Only way to get better ones would be to go back and take pics from the same spot at the same time.

Could be, MrsWind meet my father, only he had been dead 8 years. She saw an cloud over me, while I was asleep, when I woke up I had been dreaming of talking to him.

Here is another pic she sent me also.  It concreted my thoughts that it was just glare.  This is taken from ground level, and there is not nearly the glare as there is from the top level, anywhere on the picture.

I've taken pictures during different lightings, etc. and picked up some glares that I knew what caused them. I later convinced this gullible person I knew that these were "ghost" photos. To be honest, I have never seen a good ghost shot before.

I did a search on google, no luck. Anybody got a link to the site where the guy took a bunch of photos in a forest and at an abandoned hotel and photoshopped ghostly images into them?

What about this one:

We had a few suicied at our range. One was an employee. HE went out to the tactical range where its usually quiet and wanted to see what a .357 magnum sounded like if he put it against his head. His name was Ed. And we called it "Eds corner" Or "Eds range"

One day the instructor was taking pictures of the range so he can make an advert for the CCW clas that inlcuded a 1 hour lesson that included drawing from concealment.

Anyway he know what my opinion is and thought he had somethign to convince me. He walks up and says "Hah, tell me what you see. Or better yet tell me "who" you see."

I could tell when the photo was taken and what he was getting at because of the anomaly in the image. I was convinced beyond a shadow of a dount as to what I saw. I needed to have him verify so I asked

"Where you smoking when you  took the picture?"

"Um, yeah" smile starts to fade and become bemused. Hope is lost and he rips the photo in half and says "Damn" and walks away.

I have never before seen such a clear photo of exhaled smoke.

We have had quite a few actually. Makes for an interesting day.

One thing that was funny is. { great another friggin WB story   }
One night the motion sensor alarm went off in that exact spot. We have had folks try to break in by taking apart the air intaes on the rook and climbing in. I had a pretty nice set of tools left behind by one guy. I call the local PD adn wait for them to arrive. Cop shows up and BS for a monent and then I explain how funny it would be if it were the "ghosts" The dude was all serious and looked a little freaked out. We headed to the range and he reches for the door and stops and looks at me. He realised he was going into unknown territory alone. I ofered to back him up with my CZ and he was totally cool with it. In fact so cool that he made me enter first. That was funny stuff. We pies off corners and cleared teh first range just fine but the second range is where the detector went off. I headed for it and he hung back, by now I wsa convinced no one was in there and didnt mind going in by myself.

Like I suspected , nothing was going on. The cop wouldnt come into the last range. I yelled clear after I checked it and though he would come in. He yells back "ok thats cool" and was already leaving the range. He later told me that he was a big time believer in ghosts and was scared shiftless about going into the last range. He hung out for a bit and I let him shoot the M1A1 Savage .45. After dumping about 4 mags he had to go.
