I haven't used IRC in a long time.

I went to grab a copy of mIrc todya and noticed he started charging after a 30 day trial (it used to be free).

any good free alternatives?

mirc doesn't expire, you just have to see his annoying face when it starts up.

I use Polaris 2k, mIRC based client designed around ruinning Fserves as well as chat, free and no annoying popups trying to get you to send him money
