I have a PC card slot on the side of my laptop.  Can I put a card with a PCI interface in the slot?

no.    two different slots.


the laptops is called pcmcia.  or credit card slot

the pci slot is only used on desktop computers.   for video cards, modems, nics, etc

There are SOME laptops with a mini-PCI interface, though.
My IBM A31 Thinkpad has one.

+1 - they're quite common, but you wouldn't see one unless you disassembled the computer.
