To let my computer put matrices in reduced row echelon form and just use a => instead of using row operations? Will I regret this later in life? Am I stumbling down the wrong path? I feel like I'm at a crossroads in my life. |
yep I've gotten in the habit of not reducing the matrices by hand and I'm afraid it's going to fuck me in the ass later. |
The only hindrance i can see is if you would actually be required to hand crank them out on a test. I do them by hand, which is a PITA, especially on a time limited test. Reducing them by computer helps save time since you use RREF to find all the other stuff. I really don't think you're hurting anything by doing it with a computer. |
Wasnt there a movie or something devoted to matrices or something like that?

LOL!! It is not a big deal. The people that picked the third option are just dummies like me that don't know WTF you're talking about. |

A huge area of computer science is devoted to making matrix operations more efficient in computers. I'd like to see you do a 180x180 matrix without one for example. Every higher math class I took said use a computer for the homework, just know the process so we could do up to 4x4 matrcies on the tests. Edit to point out that in my fury to make up large numbers for a matrix size the first numbers I chosewouldn't be good for reduction. Oh well, it's late. |
