Quoted: Did you do a good job making sure? Can he hold your property if you're not there? Can he protect the ones he loves without you calling orders? Does he know how to keep living on his own if he loses it all? Did you teach him to be a rifleman, a survivor, and a real man? Does he know honor, does he understand grief and perseverance? Is he ready? First post might not nail it this time. View Quote |

As a teenager he is capable of most if not all of those things. Not sure if he is ready for war or not though.

Both my sons have their own firearms, know how to hunt, fish and farm. They can also drink, fight and fuck. I think they will be alright if I am called early.

Well he’s currently living in a storage container in a Middle Eastern desert. So, yeah

I don't know. He got a bad case of the clap from his mo'ma. I told him to go to the local Veterinarian and get a stiff penicillin fix.
Hope he made it OK. But I doubt it. |

My son told me he doesn't have PTSD because he was the traumatic event.
My Irish grand children have the same attitude. Win or lose we are going down with a fight. |

Our son is 51, a US Army 06, three deployments, 2 Bronze Stars, etc. He retires next year. He worked his way through College as a Bouncer & Bartender in several border town Country & Western Nightclubs. He joined the army as an enlisted man with a six year commitment for Ranger & Jump School. He served two years enlisted before OCS. We are sure proud of him.

Working on it
ArizonaMan has armed up taken training and joined a range club First aid gear and training his wife is a tough little ferret The one at home with our grandsons and DIL. Formal pistol training with his security firm, first aid training also. His wife is borderline tiger mom. The mental or psychological strength is there I think Fighting fir wife kids and property sorta works that stuff out. When the shit started going down she came down to the lock up and demanded I show her how to run the ARs load mags etc. Above average for all concerned I’d say. |

Yes.
And No. He can shoot. He loves to fight. He is mean as hell. But.. he is a 19yo with some substance abuse issues, so I will keep him away from all firearms till he gets cured of it. I would be dubious about him backing me up, let alone holding down the fort. |

At 15 he's a two tour vet of the Cola War, an Eagle Scout, has his own NODs and AR, competes in two gun, can run a 13 minute two mile, does body weight exercises for about an hour a day, is an honors student (because it's not all physical) can already drive, change a tire and oil etc
I have, quite honestly, prepared my son for the boog since birth. And my avatar is a reflection of this. Attached File |

Quoted: mine is 19 has a full set of ceramic plates, 4 AR's and currently at Air Force BMT View Quote Sounds like my oldest. He's been in a little over a year and is at Vandenberg. I've been getting a constant flow of Hesco ceramic, ballistic helmets, uppers etc in the mail so he can build more rifles off stripped lowers. He will be busy with his pile of gear he's accumulating with his military pay if and when he ever gets to come home. I'm waitin for you to send some NVG my way, son ?? |

My oldest went to Iraq and Afghanistan. Not a door kicker but was not a FOBitt. Stuff goes south, I'm pretty sure he would handle stuff better than me.

Did my best with the oldest. That said, he has a life of his own now with his own preps. Next oldest son,
