Well, is it? Rednecks love low end Camaro sports cars. They also love SKS "sniper rifles". Both suck when it comes to performance against actual high-performance machines. Are the guys who love breakdown model camaros the same folks that crow about the scoped SKS rifle?

It's been 10 years since your join date, OP.

Nobody Tapcofucks SKS's anymore; they're too expensive.  There are cheap AR's to rape now.

Like someone else mentioned commie guns are too pricey now.
I proclaim the DPMS Oracle the Camaro LS of sniper rifles.
With a low price and no sights it's a sure thing it'll be topped with a cheap scope.

people who scope  SKS rifles aren't really into guns so much, or they lack the knowledge of the OP about guns.  On the flip side they most likely voted for Trump.  Would you rather them be commies voting for FHRC and FBHO?

OP is spot on. 5 minutes on Armslist and you'll see a dozen Chinese or Yugo SKS's that have been bubba'ed in some way. Usually a cheap Walmart Tasco scope, crappy 30 round aftermarket mag, and some abomination of a stock.

If you plan on sniping at less than 100 yards.

7.62X39 is not a long distance round for accuracy.

I maintain that those guns have been sitting there suffering their bubbafication since at least 2010.

To be clear, The scoped sks, the Camero RS and the Mullet severed the same purpose, to get GD laid by women who didn't know any better, or who were easily impressed....or who made bad decisions.

Without these items (and Moms basement) GD would not be able to reproduce and live on.

My boys have two that I had to "de-cosmo", they enjoy shooting them. And I have four more still in cosmoline that I've kept in storage for years, I plan to get them all up and running this summer.

Ouch, quite possibly the worst engine in the history of GM.  Yeah, a Camaro 2.8L is a pretty fair equivalent to an SKS "sniper" rifle.

Puting a scope on an SKS doesn't make it a sniper rifle. It may allow one to shoot more accurately, but not like a precicion built rifle.

BTW, what's the big deal about puting a scope on one? (No I don't own one)

One last thing, 7.62x39 only good for 100 yards? Gonna have to disagree with that statement.

I suppose it might be. With one of those ugly ass pistol grip stocks My SKS is 6MOA on a good day. I don't know why anyone would scope it. Even my trashcan AK is ~4MOA.

I've been considering optics for more and more of my guns that I hadn't previously due to my eyes getting worse as I age.

Good thing it's not a concern with handgonnes or I'd have one funky looking collection.

SNIPE: v. To shoot somebody from cover, or concealment, usually from a long distance.

People should just use the word 'target rifle', which can take many mechanical forms.

This configuration does work well with a long eye relief scope. It holds zero and doesn't get battered to death by the bolt. It is however a bit front heavy.
