Is there any good tasting brands out there? Anyone still drink the stuff? I'm finding It's much easier to nuke a cup of water than it is to make a pot of coffee in the morning rush. Problem is the Walmart instant coffee I tried sucks ass. |
+1, takes 5 minutes to brew a cup while your getting ready. I know though I couldnt do it, Im one of those people that gets up, throws clothes on and out the door, so I can sleep as long as possible. |

This is what happens when you serve instant coffee. Not Rick Roll |
Yeah, I don't have one though and have no intentions of buying one right now. I really don't drink that much coffee to begin with. Just a quick jolt in the morning. |
OMG that was funny.

I do, and WTF is the point of making a pot of coffee in the morning when I pour 2 cups in a mug, and am gone until 6:30pm? I drink Folgers brand, and I think it's pretty good. 99% of this site would disagree I'm sure, but they also don't eat at restaurants that cost less than $50/head or drink beer that is less than $5/bottle, or at least they like to ramble on about how they don't. |
I've been known to eat the powder sans water for a quick pick-me-up. |
|
I must be the other .5% that drinks Folgers instant in the morning. Just easier than making a whole pot for just a cup or two. Like wise, it's a lot less clean up than making a pot. Don't get me wrong, I like fresh brewed much better, but I live alone and I'd waste more if I brewed it every morning. I'll make a pot if the girlfriend stays over or I have company/family stay. |

Nestle' has another line of instant that's pretty good, too. Otherwise Folgers or Tasters Choice. The singles in teabag form are adequate but not great. I agree that a coffee maker is a waster unless you're going to drink the whole pot fairly soon. I can't stand coffee that has been spoiled in the pot and it can happen within an hour or two. Another choice would be a 1-cup drip basket that sits on the cup and instead of a paper filter has a finely perforated screen (not mesh) at the bottom which is plated with a gold color. Keep a weeks worth of ground voffee in the frige in a jar, shake enough into the basket to cover the bottom, and pour almost-boiling water in. You'll have a good cup in less time than you need to butter your toast, and no soggy filters to mess with. Just rinse it under the hot water tap. Wash when you think it needs it. |

You can get a single cup jobber. You'd be much better off IMO. Otherwise... I find that any brand turns real awful after awhile and have to switch up. Maxwell house or Folgers is probably as good as you're gonna get. Using some Cremora, a "rich + creamy" non-dairy powdered creamer, can help make it more tolerable.

I like chocolate covered coffee beans. A better option than a coffee ground "powder sandwich" in my estimation

+1 Get up to walk a long-ass way, dump some MRE coffee on the tongue, swish some aqua from the canteen (optional), and move out. Great way to start the day. Taster's Choice/MRE coffee all the way. Though, I'm pretty soft-core these days, and prefer my raspberry mocha or almond latte; maybe a little cranberry orange scone to kick it up a notch

Good Lord man...REAL coffee is cheap. Even econo grind coffee is better than instant. BTW...I drink cheap non micro brew beer and eat at Crapplebees..... However, my penis size is 15"...3" above the ARFCOM average. |
| Folgers instant is tolerable if you cant make real coffee. If you only need a cup or two, get a french press and some real coffee. |
