  • Passengers who splash a small fortune on exclusive cruise ship suites can see the world in the lap of luxury
  • Regent Seven Seas Explorer will boast the first-ever in-room spa retreat on a cruise ship when it launches this year
  • Royal Loft Suites offered by Royal Caribbean span two storeys and come with a stunning wall of windows

Royal Caribbean's Royal Loft Suite is a behemoth, spanning two decks with a stunning two-storey wall of windows.

There is 1,600 square feet of living space on the main floor and 874 square feet on the balcony, which features a loft-style bedroom.

Set to launch in November, Seven Seas Explorer, from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, has been billed as the world's most luxurious ship.

Passengers will enjoy unrivalled luxury in the Regent Suite, which boasts a spacious living room with a bar, grand piano and dining area.

Renderings of the Seven Seas Explorer promise an enormous bathroom with marble floors and the first in-room spa retreat at sea.

Passengers enter Celebrity Cruises' two-bedroom Reflection Suite through its very own private entrance on the 14th deck.

The suite boasts one of the most exhilarating bathrooms in the world. Its shower (at left) extends over the edge of the cruise ship.

Perks include a private butler, in-suite afternoon canapes, daily platters of fresh fruit and exclusive access to the ship's private restaurant.

Renderings have revealed what the Queen Mary 2's swankiest suites will look like following a 25-day refurbishment this spring.

Each 2,249-square foot duplex features a master bedroom upstairs, expansive balcony, two marble baths and exercise equipment.

The enormous Balmoral and Sandringham Duplex Suites, named for Queen Elizabeth II's retreats in Scotland and England, are identical.

Measuring more than 2,000 square feet, the suites are decorated with furnishings from the Ralph Lauren Home Collection.

Spanning the entire beam of the ship, each suite boasts a large living room, king-size bed and a dramatic entry foyer with a music room.

Passengers can lounge on comfortable chairs on the private veranda or relax in indoor and outdoor whirlpool spas.

My bathroom was the size of a small phone booth on my last cruise, and that was one of the better rooms.

I'll be down stairs locked up with the rest of the Irish

Meh. Those look like Hielo's bathroom before the expansion/renovation. Nothing special, comparatively speaking.

Someone willing to drop that kind of cash on a stateroom wouldn't want to mingle with us dirty commoners, wouldn't they rent a yacht?
Link Posted: 4/20/2016 12:17:43 PM EDT
Meh the room is fancy but you're still locked on a friggin ship with thousands of others. If I had that cash I would just hire Blackfox for a charter

I was in the Navy. It was pretty much like that.

That first one looks to be about $5800-$7600

Looks like a great place to take a couple of hookers.
Link Posted: 4/20/2016 12:29:33 PM EDT
I don't like them. They are all very gaudy. Not inviting at all.

Except the Celebrity Cruises.

Someone did a much better job of creating an space you want to be in.

All that and a free dose of Norovirus.

I suspect that a lot of these suites were not created with the middle class American consumer in mind.

Remember that these ships sail the world and when positioned in Southeast Asia, there are plenty of wealthy cruisers who see spending huge amounts of money as a sort of dick measuring contest.

I bet most suites would go unsold from western hemisphere ports of call. They'd be offered as upgrades to certain lifetime cruisers with hundreds or thousands of nights within the line.

Every one of those pics is like a Where's Waldo of all the places the wife and I could defile while on a cruise.

They may be high dollar suites, but a black light would still reveal the same things you'd find in a cheap motel.

You can just lock the doors at a Golden Corral if you want to be trapped at a buffet with dirty, rude people.

I cruised in The Michelangelo Suite once. Was not nearly as fancy as the pictured one in the OP, but it was still way more awesomer than a normal stateroom.

The one shown in most of these pictures is 35,000 British pounds per week per person. That's almost exactly $50,000 US dollars (or $100K/couple). You can pretty consistently rent your own 150' yacht for that kind of dough. See Charter World. I'll take you out and show you a great time for 1/4 of that .

There's apparently a LOT of $ out there- The Monte Carlo to Venice cruise in July, priced from $15,000 to $72,000 is all booked.

Wow.

I'm not sure if that's your uneducated assumption or part of an unfortunate experience.

I'll readily admit that when you cruise at the lowest tier, you're gonna get a diverse mixture of people on the ship. The old adage of getting what you paid for is absolutely the case when it comes to booking a cruise.

However, just because there are pockets of white/brown/yellow/black/purple/whatever trash doesn't mean that you have to continue to associate or even be in close proximity to any of them.

If you can't find a couple of dozen fun/relaxing/exciting/chill things to do on board (in private or out in public), at any given moment, then you definitely don't belong on a cruise ship.
