Going to do Indian Food tonight. I'm thinking some kind of lager or IPA.
Sometimes IPAs are too hoppy for me so I'm on the fence about that one. Recommendations welcome. |
well if I still partaked in alcohol I would recommend Bud
you see, its the king of beers. |
Our local Indian joint (one of them) has a beer straight from India. It's not bad and it goes well with the food.
I'm more partial to mango lassi (no idea if I'm spelling that right!) myself. |
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever actually had an IPA with Indian food. I usually just drink it by itself.
I'll have to get off the fence about that. IPA's back in the running. Edit to add: Yes I usually get the mango laasi also. LOVE that stuff. |
Sweet white wines like Riesling are good with Indian food, especially if it is very hot.
Kingfisher, but that shit will give you a worse headache than a night drinking soju
Most Indian beers (Taj Mahal, Kingfisher, Flying Horse, etc) are Lagers.... An IPA would go well with most Indian. A traditional Lager would go well also.
Kingfisher.
Royal Challenge. Kalyani Black Label. or Haywards 10000....if you can get it. |
If you aren't a fan of IPA then either Tiger, Kingfisher, or Cobra are the kind of lagers that most places I know sell. Not necessarily the best lagers around, but good enough if served properly chilled. |
Pilsner Urquel. Has enough hops to compliment the spicy food, but not overwhelming.
Quoted:
Kingfisher or Taj Or Cobra ( that is if they serve it in America) |
Does IPA pair with Indian food? India Pale Ale is originally a British style, no?
I'd go with any Indian beer.
mgd, miller lite or bud goes pretty well with frybread and corn soup
Well, I couldn't find any Kingfisher, Cobra, etc. They only had IPAs in six packs. The a/c is out in my truck and it was too muggy to be driving around all over town looking for more variety.
So I opted for something I'd never had. Tap Room No. 21 lager. It had a brown ale taste. Which I like but I wouldn't recommend with currys. |
IPA was for the trip TO India.
Kingfisher while you are IN India. |

I'm pretty sure this post tells us that you have no taste buds. I can understand not enjoying it but I can think of *no one* who would say that Indian is bland. |

You do realize that India has numerous regions...each with their own local cuisine? Making a blanket statement the Indian food sux...it like saying American food sux or European food sux. I have to wonder if you have really ever eaten any Indian cusine. |
My idea of Indian food is venison, corn and squash. Any good brown ale goes just fine.
For Indian Food...I would say go with an IPA or a Lager
If you really want to create some Ambience... Break out a Martini Henry Rifle A bottle of Gin put up a picture of Her Majesty Queen Victoria Hang up a British Flag play a bit of Rag Time music and have a Go at it. |
Yes I have. Co workers were from india, from two different regions they brought in food one was bland horrible shit, the other was the horrible shit of nightmares that wrecked you r guts from scent to shit.

Just have them bring a dish each then dump both into the same pot, stir and serve! I vote Taj Mahal. |

One that will mask that nasty Indian food taste. Or something potent to where after you drink two or three of them, you could eat a steaming turd and not be bothered. I had a bad screaming-shits run in with Indian food. Fuck that gut rot shit, I'll go to Burger King. |
