One of those that just gets funnier on subsequent viewings.
Great cast, well executed, very funny. “You have a last name, Guy.” “Do I??! Do I??!!” If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it at first opportunity. |

"Does the rolling help?"
"It ALWAYS stopped at one on the show!" "Whoever wrote this episode should DIE!!!" |
|
Yes it is. I always chuckle when they overdub Sigourney saying "screw that!" instead of "Fuck that!" You can obviously see what she is saying. I watched one version where they didn't change it.

There was supposed to be a sequel in the works but not sure how that will be without Alan Rickman

What is this thing? I mean, it serves no useful purpose for there to be a bunch of chompy, crushy things in the middle of a hallway!

"Never give up, Never surrender."
As a Star Trek and Star Wars fan, than movie made me laugh hard. Alan Rickman was fucking hilarious. |
|
Look around you, can you form some kind of rudimentary lathe?

I read a list of Star Trek movies ranked from best to worst, they admitted GQ is basically a Star Trek movie, and ranked it as number 4.

You're not gonna die on the planet, Guy.
I'm not? Then what's my last name? It's, uh, uh - -I don't know. |

OK. I thought I was crazy. I distinctly remember that scene because she cursed and was disappointed to find all current versions of Galaxy Quest with the dubbed dialogue. Everything I have read suggests that the version with cursing was never released. Mandela effect big time. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

So I am not going to say I didn't imagine it but I truly believe there was one version that made it out there. I will have to see if my mother still owns it. |

The first time l saw it l left very disappointed. Guess l was expecting a more serious movie.
Eventually found it in the Wal-Mart $5 bin and bought it. By that time l was in a better mind set, l guess. It's a comic, satirical masterpiece! On my copy's commentary someone points out Sigourney's dubbed over line but make it sound like the original theatrical release was dubbed and not done specifically for the home release versions. But since l didn't see or on the theatre I'll never knew. |

Great movie, very funny with a great cast. Weaver looked the hottest of her life in that movie.

Need to combine that and Space balls for an evening with my teenagers.

I like it.
I laugh every time Monk starts mugging down with tentacle chick. |

To fully enjoy it switch the audio track to Thermian.
The whole movie in Thermian! |

If you are any kind of trek or sci fi fan it's a must view for both parodying and paying homage to every scifi trope imaginable. |

"Is there air!?! Yo don't know!"
Single best line in the movie is Guy in the transporter room when the undisguised aliens come in. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhh!" Galaxy Quest scream |

One of my favorites. I’m laughing just watching some of these clips. The Thermians are a crack up!

Remember the 1999 time frame. Movie & TV producers were doing anything they could to ride the coat tails of Star Wars and Star Trek. Lots of "easter eggs" in Galaxy Quest paying it back while subtly elbowing & back slapping at the same time. Seems like each time I watch GQ, I find something new linking back to the other movies.
Regarding Segourney Weaver, I saw an interview a while back - probably the same one where she said getting into character made her dumber - she said about the enhancements to her chest (paraphrase) "wardrobe and make up" worked overtime to make look that good". She was great in "Dave" also. Hot in a very classy way. Dave (7/10) Movie CLIP - I Don't Think You Were Pretending (1993) HD |
