Horns are illegal in Michigan?
What's a train horn? Around here we only have to worry about mariachi horns. |

A train horn is a horn used on a train, i have one that you can use with a air compresser, its as loud as the day is long. |

Tanam, so do you know if it legal to have on a vehicle? I want to put one on my truck but I was told that it was illegal (not to own just to put on a truck)......

I doubt it's illegal because it's a train horn, but it may be breaking some code having to do with decibal levels.

here in georgia if you donot have paper work where you bought them they will take them because they have had a lot of them stolen of trains lattly

I added a set of 132dB air horns to my SUV. I believe it's a good safety feature. When people are about to bump into me or otherwise don't see me, it's not difficult to get their undivided attention now. JCWhitney.com has them cheap. The whole thing installed myself for $35.
I think the train horns are a little over 150dB. |

Im not sure if it would be legal to install. I do know if you blasted that fucker going down I-75 or I-94 you would get sued by 87 people who smashed their cars

Kid across the street has one on his pickup truck. Loud as fuck. Nice kid but somedays I'd like to kill him.

I believe my factory GM horn was 85 dB. ETA: I believe the diesel truck air horns and emergency vehicle horns to be in the 115-130 dB range. |

There's a guy a couple of blocks away with one ... kind of reminds me of living back on the south side of Chicago with all the trains. Occassionally when sleeping with the windows open I hear the guy blast the thing in the distance ... nice memories. I intentionally bought a home far far away from train tracks.

This is set I now have on my GMC Sierra. They are Nathan P5's. Yes they are very loud. I can't tell you if they are illegal but they should be because I have so much fun with them.
