I would like to suggest (in this forum, since it's been ignored in IMs) that you implement an ignore function where you can choose to ignore posts from a specific member.

I won't name names, but there is at least one member who cannot seem to post a positive reply to save his life. If he can't say something nice, he has to say something anyway. Apparently, his constant belittling of other members isn't a violation of the CoC, so suggesting an ignore feature is all there is left.

I came here to post this exact same suggestion. Would be nice not to have to constantly read the crap some members spew out all the time.

You're tops on my ignore list if it ever becomes reality. The way you're always bugging me with questions and stalking me in the forums...

I see you IMed me in August in the Kifaru forum-I have just been playing hard to get.

It's been suggested before and the standard replay has something to do with "be a grown up and just ignore them"

Yes, and to be of any real value we have to be able to ignore mods & staff.

I replied to your reply BTW. You and your weak-ass 5 post count.

Ironic isn't exactly the word I'd use...

I did get a reply from EdSr, and he is one class act, even when I don't agree with him. I don't think we're that different on this point, though, and In that IM I DID name names.

I think I have to agree with Dusty here.  I think at some point you have to "naturally" ignore someone.

When someone is bad enough that I want to ignore them, I look at it like I do in real life. They don't get invited to my parties. They don't get invited to my house to watch the game. They can associate with anyone else they want, but I have nothing to do with them. If I'm at someone else's party, I can't kick them out, but I can go into a different room.

That's what I consider the ignore function. A way to walk into another room to avoid conflict. The person I want to ignore has nothing to say that I want to hear. His comments in his supposed area of expertise have even been less than useful.

Let me enjoy AR15.com without having to see his keyboard vomitus and I'll continue to support the board. If you prefer his coin to mine, that's fine, too. Just don't wonder when the star next to my name goes away.

Exactly.  I try to ignore some people, but it gets to the point where you get really pissed off...a couple members I won't name here but I agree with you.

How would that work, exactly?  Would others know you were ignoring that poster, and would it cause a lot of wierd looking conversations.

Can't you just stick your fingers in your ears and go, "Na na na na na na na na na, I can't HEAR you!!"
